This study seeks to understand how, where and under what circumstances the working poor in Southern Nevada access health care services. Social, cultural, economic, environmental and system barriers to access for preventive and early and effective health care will be explored. Findings will be used to develop more effective outreach efforts among the working poor. |

This study will compare scientific expectations with community expectations and differences between tribal communities that have a long history of diabetes programming and those with relatively new efforts. |

Technological Capabilities of Underserved Populations
As technology access in Nevadan rural areas and for tribal health care programs is challenging, a needs assessment of technological capabilities and barriers to use will be conducted in the state. The data collected will provide a base for future decision making with regard to technology development in the state. |

Data Development Study
This study will explore current availability of information, gaps in data collection and challenges to data sharing on health disparities in Nevada. Strategies for addressing these problems will be recommended. |
